my question is: i'm j1 and mu husband is j2, and he's been working with his ead for the last 4-5 years. we are subjected to 2 year HRR. in order for my husband to get h1b, we need the waiver. can he apply for the waiver independently? just like you did - independently from your j1 principal?
can his company apply for a H1B just after he gets the favorable rec. letter? or doeshe have to wait for the final decision from USCIS? or application for H1B with the fav.recom. letter is only ok if we are doing premium processing? because i get different answers from different lawyers about this. one says we have to wait for the final decision from uscis, one says different....

We need your help in making the Admin Fixes Campaign Successful. We are organizing a Southern California IV Meetup and Letter Signing Event this Weekend. We are targeting to get a 1000 letters signed and sent to the White House from our group. We need volunteers to print letter templates, get envelopes/stamps and most importantly bring family, friends and colleagues to this event. Please see below for details about the Venue.

Two reason to go for Peoplesoft Softwares
1) Peoplesoft Enterprise ERP package is damn popular among HRMS software user world. Peoplesoft (before Oracle took over them) were earning major money/client on that package.
2) Peoplesoft Enterpriseone(This was JDEdwards earlier version of Oneworld ERP). Enterpriseone has strong Finance module which may helps you to grow in future in your professional career. You can be a functional consultant in finance or HRMS or both.
You can join any of several consulting company who are in Peoplesoft/ORacle/JDEdwards ERP business and for which they need MBA kind of background for their functional requirement at their client site. Trust me its not hard to learn functional part of these ERP packages. There are DEMO version of these software available to download and you can have guide for free from Oracle website. If you need more information then do send PM on my ID. May be I can send you more information.

For someone who is an MBA (Finance) with 7-8 yrs of Financial and HR benefits experience who wants to move to IT or IT related field what would you advice would be the best field to move to or best certification to take ?

I am in same boat, I took a Infopass today and met with a IO in NYC. She said she will do the needful as the dates are current by communicating with TSC and if nothing happens I have to come back in 45 days. I do not have hopes but lets see what happens

Hi,
My current EAD will expire in September 2008. It is applied through Company A. I want to change my employer in July to Company B. But I would think during
that time frame I would have already applied for my EAD renewal.
Can I transfer to Company B during this renewal process?

I do not beleive that EAD is company specific, it is yours like a green card, they will not ask anything whilre renewing green card.

I have a couple of questions:
1. In the AP application form, there is a question on when you intend to travel. What should I enter there when I am only applying for some future travel and am not sure about the dates?
2. I had worked on OPT after my graduation before switching to H1 visa. So when I apply for EAD now, should I apply as a renewal applicant or a new applicant? Is OPT the same as EAD?

I think that applies to telephone conversations only though I may be wrong. Doesn't hurt to record conversation though - the most that will happen is that the lawyer will say that it is not admissible in a court of law.

Totally agree with you. However, I have been complaining abt a similar company to my local INS office for over one year now (sending letters every other month) , but to no avail. Where do we complain?

I got my Green card in mail yesterday. I want to thank IV and everyone for all the support during this GC journey. I wish everyone all the best for their green card process. I wish everyone gets to file 485 irrespective of priority dates and ultimately get their green cards. This is a question to Admin, i have a recursive donation going on, I would like to make a one time donation and stop the recursive donation.

Did you notice any LUD's on your case in September?..i got an RFE for my Spouse in August and responded on September 2nd after that there is Soft LUD almost every day but no status change..on my case no LUD's or what so ever last LUD was on 08/19 the day when i did my FP that's it..Guys i am frustated and feeling some how that i will miss this bus... called USCIS IO told me that both the cases are with officer not sure how reliable inof that is..Opened SR on September 3rd..guys please suggest me what else i can do:confused::confused::mad::mad::mad:
Got the cards in the mail. My online case status says the application is still pending.

Check with your attorney, in your mail boxes along with the online USCIS case status. You may get the good news in your mail box or from your attorney's office before your status is updated online.

The USCIS online status system is maintained by contract workers and is often inaccurate.

This is very much correct. And it is also the reason to position fixing immigration system as a remedy for both legal and illegal immigration. If you propose a help for legal immigrants, lawmakers are not going to listen to you as much as if you proposed something that fixes both legal immigration and encourages less illegal immigration in the future. Seriously, is this a prank? If you have a 200k job why would you want to think of IT? IT jobs start paying in that range once you become a director of some kind. Are you ready to take a hit of 80 K because you hate your job?
You need to tell us a little more of your background i.e. education, industry, years of experience, what is the frustrating? May be you are just tired of having a job in the first place?

I have a stable job( non-engineering) and I am making a decent salary(more than 200K/year) right now but I just hate my job.I desperatly want to change my field.
I am hoping to get my green card next year( PD 06/2004 NSC EB 2 India).I need your advise on how to get into computer/software/IT field.
I do not have an engineering background but am willing to go back to school. I would like to start working on this transition while I wait for my GC.
My questions are -
1- Is there a shortcut of getting into any computer/software or related field ?training,short courses, anything!
2- If I have to go back to school what major will I need to take? Any specific requirements?

it depends on USCIS officer. i had a good lawer when I applied for h1b transfer. i got stuck for one 15 days paycheck. eventually it is cleared after submitting the paper work. having good lawer is not enough. depends on your luck or USCIS officer also
