Does anybody know how long one can stay out of Canada after landing? I heard some where its 2 years and some say its 3 years from the date you land.
And that time does not have to be continous. You can do cycle of 6 months in Canada 1 year outside outside and it will still count to 2 years by end of 5 years, or you can do just last 2 years of those 5 years.

If you live in MA, go to http://kennedy.senate.gov/ and select 'case work' from Constituents Services. If you live in another state, go to your state's senator's website and find link to send them request related to cases pending with gov. agencies.

I came here in 2000 and applied for GC in 2003(Nothing much Happened to it). Moved to different Company in March 2005 and applied for GC before PERM started. After that Applied for RIR conversion in JAN 2007 and my bad luck, the Labor did not get cleared before Auguat 17th and Company did not apply in PERM and Almost all of them got EAD and i am left behind. I am in this country for close to eight Years and not even signs of EAD.
On top of it, I applied H1b for my Wife this year and the quota was over on the first Day. She has PHD in Computer-science and did not get H1. What a mess ? And what kind of life i am leading here...
Thinking of all these things, I feel so frustated...
I am just waiting for PD to be 2005 and then apply for I-485 ? (Sucks Man..)
I am the worst Unluckiest Person on this whole earth....

I-140 -EB3 - TSC- Approved 08/06.
I-140-EB2 - Pending at TSC. RD 04/25/07 based on Perm to port 09/04 PD.
I-485/EAD/AP filed at NSC on 08/03/07. RD 08/06/07.
I guess longway to go for getting receipts.

I am a physician working in underserved areas in MN. I am greatly appreciated
in my community. I regularly get invited to Christmas parties by local congressmen. I never attend those due to my family obligations. However, this year I will attend and educate my congressmen as much as I can.
I am sure there are lot of physicians, like me affected by retrogression. Eventhough we live in remote areas, we can do whtever we can.
I am also willing to join in MN local chapter of IV. Any MN members kindly send me PM.
pls post your note on the Mn local state chapter thread and get in touch with other members.

I filed on June 5th and TSC received my package on June 6th. Still my Checks hasnt cleared.
I filed 485/EAD/AP on May 31st and TSC received on June 1st. My checks haven't been cleared yet. TSC is said to be the slowest one. In a chinese forum, several people whose PD became current on June 1st got 485 approved recently. Their cases were all transferred to NSC recently.
BTW, how long will it take to get EAD? I sort of remember that it takes at most 3 months.

In Fox News this afternoon, the senator has explicitly said that the Chicago lady does not have any "constituional rights" since she is not American citizen. Go figure what they think about us.
she can say whatever. the courts have to agree.
if she says that constitutional protections don't apply to non-citizens, they are essentially reinstating slavery.

According to USCIS previous requirement, a person is required to work for the sponsoring employer for at least one year after obtaining the Green Card. There may be a problem when you want to apply for U.S. citizenship later, if you leave the sponsoring employer in a short period of time after obtaining the Green Card.
The AC-21 rule does not clear the issue of a person who leaves its employer after the I-485 approval, but it is better to take a conservative way to reduce the potential risk later.

You are seeing it from a complete 180 degrees than I see it. It's not us who's discriminating, it is the laws which are discriminating. I am asking them to treat us all equal, I entered the country on an H1B which was an employement based application it did not hav any country quota, then why should green cards for EB have country quota. Why should a person from India wait for 10 year and a person from Romania get it in 1 year....I think your ROW friends shold understand our position.
Your strategy is to go against her own bill to recapture greencards that she introduced for us last year.

What you are doing is only dividng the community. My collegues who are also IV members are upset reading that someone in IV is pursuing a one point agenda against ROW. We need to stop and think. A lot of ROW are quiet members on IV forum and they will be upset.
Country caps can only be supported if there is recapture or increase in visa numbers.

Free riders if you are reading this and I know you are, please and please come out of your cheap mentality and donate. You know very well that saving 20$ will not help you build a TajMahal, but donating just 20$ or 50$ will make a huge difference to millions of people INCLUDING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
So don't be ashamed of yourself by not donating and donate generously.
Not sure where you get this philosophy of encouraging people to donate by hurling insults. There is a solid proposal from realizeit which is gaining traction and many people have committed donations. Motivating people by solid proposals rather than silly insults and calls to their conscience by abusing it gets us nowhere.

See , they started the 3 yr H1B extension only on basis of Retrogression...
and only if you have a approved 140... My Labor was more than 365 days old, so i got couple of 1 yr extension so far... Now my 140 is applied and once approved i'm hoping to apply for 3 yr extension...
But if there is no retrogression - why do i need the above 3 yr H1B ?? I believe the point that IV is addressing is the BURNING issue ... " GET RID OF RETROGRESSION" ....

Purgan, please do some basic research and you will see you are plain wrong. There is no way you will see your dream coming true. Govenment intervention when it comes to regulate the influx of foreign labor is everywhere. It is controlled. You just allow less or more people coming in and that is fair. If you allow the gates of a third world country to open for good and flood this with programmers to a point where you would be making $10/hour, nobody sane wants to get downgraded to that level. Foreigners with a funny accent like us would be competing for jobs. Probably employers would love and exploited people in the third world countries would love that, but I have to tell you things don't work that way.
Similar polls were conducted by Zogby, CNN, etc. I outlined other evidences there. Only individuals with an open mind can read between the lines though.

IV is trying to get rid of retrogression which is a great goal. However, this very thing has caused hundreds and thousands of children to age out. Would it be awful to add this into the matter. I know our lives have been put on hold waiting and waiting but some of our childrens lives have been thrown down the pan in that time. We will eventually have passage to permanent residency they will not.
